Let us begin with basic Ibibio Greetings and Etiquette




Good morning – Amesiere (sing), Emesiere (plu)

Goodnight – Asiere (sing), Esiere (plu)

Goodnight (response) – Asiere Nde, Esiere Nde (for plu)

How are you? – Idem mfo?

I am fine – idem asóng

Thank you – sósóngó

Welcome – Amedi, Emedi (plu)

Thank you very much – sósóngó eti eti

Please - mbók

Sit down - Suk tie

    1. There is no Ibibio translation for "You're welcome". Amedi means "welcome" as in the greeting "welcome".
